The Foundation for Children Ronald McDonald Italy is home to the local Ronald McDonald House Charities , a non-profit organization founded in 1974 in the United States that creates, finds and supports projects that contribute directly to improving the health and well-being of children around the world. Its aim is achieved through a global network of local offices now present in 51 countries, including Italy.

Ronald McDonald Houses are situated in close proximity to a hospital and provide temporary accommodation for families with seriously ill children and long-term care. The houses are managed over time, guaranteeing a comfortable and welcoming environment where families can share their hope that the smile of her child is the best treatment to relieve the discomfort of hospital stay.
